Asian Games 2018: Bajrang Punia beats Mongolia’s Batmagnai Batchuluun, enters final

He first beat Uzbekistan’s Sirojiddin Khasanov 13-3, then outclassed Tajikistan’s Abdulqosim Fayziev 12-2 to storm into the quarterfinal.

New Delhi: India's biggest medal hope Bajrang Punia on Sunday thrashed Mongolia’s Batmagnai Batchuluun 10-0 in the semi-final to enter the final of men's 65 kg freestyle wrestling event at the Asian Games.

He first beat Uzbekistan’s Sirojiddin Khasanov 13-3, then outclassed Tajikistan’s Abdulqosim Fayziev 12-2 to storm into the quarterfinal.
  
The 24-year old from Haryana’s Jhajjar district has ensured a medal for India and is now just one victory away from giving the country its first gold medal of the Games. He will now take on Daichi Takatani of Japan in the final bout.
