BJP has inducted 5 new ministers in the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet. One of the prominent change is that deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh has been replaced by Kavinder Gupta.
BJP Kathua MLA Rajeev Jasrotia and PDP Pulwama MLA Mohammad Khalil Bandh have also been inducted as ministers.
Downplaying the reshuffle, the BJP said it is just giving chance to new face and that the rejig has nothing to do with the Kathua case.
BJP's Ram Madhav said, "The cabinet reshuffle has nothing to do with the Kathua incident. Our government has completed three years and we decided to give a chance to new faces. 5 members of the party will be sworn-in as ministers today."
The BJP has been in coalition with the PDP from last 3 years.
