New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader on Sunday said that the organisers of the event should be held responsible instead of the driver of the passenger DMU train which crushed around 60 people near a train track in Amritsar's Choura Bazar, is not be blamed. Swamy said,
“We need to identify the real culprits of this case. They are bound to try and hide behind blaming somebody else. That particular territory belongs to the state of Punjab. The Congress Govt. is held responsible for this. It is the job of the state of Punjab to see that railway tracks are secured from all the sides. The railways will obviously look after the main tracks which are the work and job of the central Govt. Roads have to be built by the state Govt.”
“I think the train driver isn’t responsible for this act and I totally agree with this viewpoint. Who gave the permission to conduct such a massive event of Dussehra nearby to railway tracks?” asked Swamy.
“Why not a ground with proper fencing was built up to conduct such a big event? Why the organisers never informed the railways about the same? Navjot Kaur Sidhu & company have to take the blame of this accident,” added Swamy.
