Found by Rao Jodha in 1459, this fort in Jodhpur stands on a high hill overlooking the city. The intricate carvings, expansive courtyards and grand interiors illustrates the skill of the sculptors during that era. There is also a museum inside the fort complex which showcases swords, paintings and old music instruments.
This mausoleum was built in commemoration of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the 33rd Rathore ruler of Jodhpur. Better known as the Taj Mahal of Rajasthan, it is made of white marbles. The stones are extremely thin and polished. The main memorial is constructed in the shape of a temple and displays a variety of paintings and portraits of Jodhpur rulers.
Built in red sandstone, Jal Mahal is located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. It is a five-storey building whose four storeys remain underwater when the lake is filled.
Chokhi Dhani in Jaipur is the place where you can experience the real Rajasthan. At Chokhi Dhani you can enjoy the vibrant spirit of the state and also eat till your heart's desire. The pure taste of Rajasthani gatte ki sabzi, daal baati churma, kadhi and bajre ki roti dipped in massive quantity of ghee will make you come here over and over again.
The fort dates from the 16th century and is one of the important tourist attractions of Jaipur. The inside of the fort is beautifully styled with semi-precious jewel inlaid decoration. History says that Mughal emperor Akbar's general Man Singh, started the construction of the fortress-palace of red sandstone and white in 1592.
JAIPUR CITY PALACE
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh built the city palace complex which is still home to the last ruling royal family which lives in a private section of the palace. The complex has many exotic structures which will direct your attention towards the inner sections of the palace. The palace also exhibits weapons owned by the royal family.
