New Delhi: Dona Paula lies in the capital city of Goa, Panjim which is hub to many interesting places. There are casinos, beaches, churches and many amazing spots that mark the beauty of Panjim. Located on the banks of the Mandovi River, the city has an ambience of the Portuguese culture. 

Out of the bountiful charming places in Goa, Dona Paula is one that has magic in it. Located 7 kms away from Panaji, Dona Paula is the most happening beach with plenty of adventure water sports. During the tourist season, this place transforms into a crowded stretch which is otherwise a calm beautiful location during monsoons.

Dona Paula is also famous for a tragic story attached to it. As the legend says, Viceroy's daughter Dona Paula jumped off the cliff after facing objections from her family due to her love affair with a son of a fisherman. So, the beach is popular by the name of Dona Paula.

The place attracts the tourists by its natural beauty, pristine beach and the romantic legend connected with it. There are also beachside stalls that offer excellent ranges of straw hats, handkerchiefs, traditional dresses, and plenty of other products. Other than this, there are some seafood restaurants near the beach serving delicious food. The place has also attracted people from the film industry to shoot portions of their film on the backdrop of this location.

Visiting Dona Paula will take you to a different era. The place is adorned with whitewashed statues perched on the rocks near the popular ferry jetty, whose origin is not clear. There is a calm yet excited vibe about the place with lots of people spending quality time either relaxing on the beach or enjoying themselves by taking part in the adventure sports.
