Pune: Amid reservation demands by Maratha Kranti Morcha and other communities, Muslim community took out a massive protest in Maharashtra’s Pune on Sunday.
The protest was held under flagship of Muslim Muk Morcha. The protestors were demanding 5 per cent reservation for the community in jobs and education sector, among other demands.
However, Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and upper castes have revolted on this month against the amended Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, alleging that the Act is being misused. Jat and Maratha communities also raised their voice for reservation.
The protesters started off from Goli Baug area in the city and marched up to the council hall.
