New Delhi: In a major blow to Kumar Vishwas, Aam Aadmi Party Political Affairs Committee (PAC) today removed him as the incharge of the Rajasthan wing of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.
Deepak Vajpayee has been named the incharge of the Rajasthan wing of AAP.
Kumar Vishwas, though, continues to be part of the AAP PAC.
This incident will widen the growing rift between Kumar Vishwas and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
A few months ago, Vishwas, who was eyeing a Rajya Sabha nomination, was snubbed by the AAP leadership which picked senior leader Sanjay Singh, businessman Sushil Gupta and chartered accountant ND Gupta for the Upper House.
Rumours about Kumar Vishwas leaving the AAP had started doing rounds in May last year after party MLA Amanatullah Khan called Vishwas a "BJP agent".
The crisis was averted after Arvind Kejriwal paid a late-night visit to Vishwas. Vishwas was made in-charge of AAP's Rajasthan wing and tasked with building the party ahead of the Assembly election in 2018.
