Jammu and Kashmir: Two Hizbul terrorists killed in a joint operation by army, police, CRPF

The operation was launched after receiving a tip-off about the presence of some terrorists in the area.

Anantnag: At least two terrorists have been killed in an ongoing encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. Two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter have been identified as Altaf Ahmad Dar (top HM commander) and Umar Rashid Wani. Police has registered a case and investigation has been initiated.

The operation was launched after receiving a tip-off about the presence of some terrorists in the area. According to reports, the gunfight started after the terrorists started firing at the security forces.

Meanwhile, the Kashmir police in a tweet said security forces have established contact with the terrorists.

This is a joint operation of the army, Jammu and Kashmir, and the Central Reserve Police Force.

The entire area has been cordoned off. Authorities have suspended internet services as a precautionary measure.
