New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not just one of the top politicians in India but also a master orator and a poet par excellence. Many, including Harivansh Rai Bachchan (per his son Amitabh Bachchan) and Shah Rukh Khan, were fan of Atal Bihari Vajpayee's impressive collection of poetry.
Celebrities including Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra condoled the death of the "great statesman". Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan paid tribute to the poet who influenced his life during his formative years.
Shah Rukh Khan also posted a video along with the tweet and a link of a poem written by Vajpayee, which was adapted onscreen several years ago.
Jagjit Singh rendered the poem titled Kya Khoya Kya Paya Jag Mein, while Amitabh Bachchan narrated the introduction of the video. The music video also featured Shah Rukh Khan and it was directed by late filmmaker Yash Chopra.
Meanwhile, condoling Vajpayee's demise, actor-politician Rajinikanth tweeted, "I'm saddened to hear the demise of a great statesman Shri Vajpayee ji," he wrote.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee died in Delhi's All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled his death and wrote: "His passing away marks the end of an era. He lived for the nation and served it assiduously for decades," he tweeted.
