Delhi rains: Bus gets stuck in flooded Ring road, 30 passengers rescued safely

Heavy rain brought some relief from humidity for Delhiites on Saturday morning as it lashed several parts of the national capital. However, flooding on roads caused long traffic jams.

New Delhi: A bus got stuck in waterlogged Ring road near Hanuman Mandir in Yamuna Bazar area on Saturday following heavy rainfall in parts of Delhi, ANI reported. All 30 passengers were rescued safely. Heavy rain brought some relief from humidity for Delhiites on Saturday morning as it lashed several parts of the national capital. However, flooding on roads caused long traffic jams.

The Delhi traffic police tweeted alerts about flooding on some roads in the city, asking people to avoid taking certain routes. Power supply was also affected in some areas because of the rainfall. "Traffic movement is closed on Bhairon Road(both carriageways) due to water logging," Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.

#DelhiRains is one of the top trends on Twitter Saturday morning as people shared pictures and videos of the rain, taken from their homes and from their cars. Some of the affected spots are the market area in the shopping hub of Lajpat Nagar, Modi Mill underpass, RTR Marg towards the airport, GT Karnal Road, IP Marg.
