Patna: Following the allegations against her husband that he had links to the Muzaffarpur shelter rape horror, Bihar minister manju Verma has resigned.
According to police, the call records have confirmed that Manju Verma's husband Chandeshwar Verma was in constant touch with the man who ran the shelter home, where more than 30 girls were raped and tortured for over four years.
According to sources, 17 calls were exchanged between the two this year. Between October and May, Chandeshwar Verma visited the shelter home nine times, each time for several hours, the call records have revealed.
The minister had admitted that Chandeshwar Verma was in touch with Brajesh Thakur, whose NGO ran the shelter home. She has also accepted that her husband used to speak to Thakur but they didn't realize he was a criminal.
