New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a 62-year-old female gangster, called by her gang members as 'Mummy', who was wanted in 113 crime cases.
Counted among top five dreaded women criminals, Basiran has been arrested 45 years after entering the world of crime after moving from her native in Rajasthan.
She was arrested from Sangam Vihar, where she went to meet her family. She was declared a Proclaimed Offender in May and was on the run for the past eight months in a case.
She has eight sons, who are also involved in criminal activities such as murder, contract killing, robbery, snatching among others.
Basiran and her gang members took up a contract to kill a man eight months ago. They took his to a forest, killed him and then burnt his body.
In January, police arrested those involved in the crime but Basiran was on the run since then.
