Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh): In a village named Badarka in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, 20 members of a Muslim family on Monday converted to Hinduism on the pretext of not getting justice over their family member’s death. The family members cited injustice meted out to them in a case of murder of one of their family members allegedly by some men belonging to Muslim community as the reason behind their conversion.
The family members claimed that when the murder happened, around 3000 Muslims were present but no one came forward to help them. Citing this reason all the family members decided to convert to Hinduism, in hopes of justice. The family members claimed that when they sent the victim’s body for postmortem, police came out with a report of suicide.
On October 1, they submitted affidavits to the sub divisional magistrate (SDM) of Baraut district for registering their conversion. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will carry out a ‘hawan’ in their village on October 2 to carry out their conversion with all religious customs.
